Looking for that perfect video game present this year and not sure what to buy? Well, look no further as the Corndogger has ya covered. If you give any of these video games I promise you the Corndogger guarantee that your gift will be of most awesomeness. Please note that not all of these games are on all three consoles. I have links next to each name that will take you to the product page for that particular game system so just click on the console of choice to make it easy for you to find. Here they are in no particular order.
Gears of War 2 - Xbox 360 only - The level of awesomeness that this game kicks out is seriously off the charts. The solo campaign for this sequel is even better than the first with even more cut scenes and in depth storyline. All the previous characters are back to give the Locusts more beatdowns and actually plays a bit longer than the first. Where the awesomeness really comes in here is with the multiplayer action on Xbox live which is way better. Anyone you give this to is gonna bust one right in their Fruit of the Looms. Guaranteed. Honestly, with the Gears games and Halo…they are reason enough right there to own a 360.
Rock Band 2 - Xbox 360, PS3, Wii - The multiplayer fake band jam session game is back with round 2. Not a whole lot different here from the original. The biggest step up is the equipment change from wired to wireless. If you don’t have part 1 then start here with 2 just for the equipment, then go back and purchase just the game for RB 1. Make sure you have an online console account because the big winner with this one over the Guitar Hero series is the availability of song downloads. Note that the Wii version only has the game so you must own RB part 1 equipment to play.

Guitar Hero World Tour - Xbox 360, PS3, Wii - I must say the new Guitar Hero World Tour really steps up the level of awesomeness over the previous games. Really not too much is different vs what Rock Band did, but the onle big different with GH is the customization levels of making your own music. I also really like the drum setup with this one over the RB rival drums.
Call of Duty: World at War - Xbox 360, PS3 - The highly successful CoD series goes back to old school World War 2 time after a brief stint in the modern world. The Corndogger loves the World War 2 games and Call of Duty does it like no other. The biggest improvement in this version is that for the first time you can play co-operative campaigns online which has not been available before. This one also introduces a concept of most awesomeness for just messing around with the game….Nazi Zombies. Hells the the yeahs you read that right. I won’t elaborate so just buy the game and see for yourself. Super happy fun times of awesomeness for sure.
Tom Clancy’s EndWar - Xbox 360, PS3 - I’m gonna say it now folks…you can not go wrong with any of the Tom Clancy games. The Corndoger loves em. Srsly. This one sets us in the not so distant future when nuclear war breaks out in the Middle East cutting off the world’s oil supply. Chaos begins. The best and most unique addition with this new game is a voice recognition system for you to call out commands with which has been seriously lacking on the new platforms. Multiplayer action here with this is totally awesome. Tons of fun and replay value. If your recipient loves modern war games then this is your pick of most awesomeness.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Xbox 360, PS3, Wii - Required playing for the Star Wars game junkies on your holiday shopping lists this year. This game has some killer graphics topped off with cool environments that you would expect from LucasArts. The game takes place between the movies Episode 3 and Episode 4. You take the role of a jedi assassin sent out from Darth Vader to hunt down and kill Jedi. Lots of new characters and a different flip side with you playing a villain keep this one interesting.
Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels - Wii only - Games like this are what the Wii was made for. Star Wars fan + Wii owner = Buy this game. Play and fight characters from the new hit show on Cartoon Network and recent full length movie The Clone Wars. Each character has unique fighting abilities so lots of good replay time trying them all out. The best here is to play against friends, which is pretty much true for all Wii specific games. Bust it out at parties or just chill with it at home. Regardless this spells out all kinds of Star Wars Clone Wars awesomeness.
Tiger Wood PGA Tour 09 - Xbox 360, PS3, Wii - This new Tiger Woods version offers the most advanced tinkering to date with personalizing your characters. The biggest change this year is advanced club caliberation. To be honest Corndoggers with you guys, I love this series. I really do. But I also don’t really find any compelling reason to buy each year’s release. I’ve actually dropped to every other year. I can say this one is definitely one to pick up even if you have the 2008 version. If you own more than one console and have historically owned the TW games on a platform other than the Wii…the Corndogger recommends giving the Wii version a try. It is definitely scaled down some to make it easier to pick up and play, but you actually swinging and putting adds a new fun addition to the game. The ease of play also works well for newbies to play at parties, etc.
Madden 09 - Xbox 360, PS3, Wii - For 20 years, Madden has been topping the football video game charts and every year it just gets better and better. This year has a new feature that adapts the difficulty based on your skill level during gameplay and has been met with mixed reviews. Regardless, if you like that or not the gameplay is smooth and looks great (even the snow games). Be sure to pick this up for the football gamer on your shopping lists. If they aren’t big on the pro, then definitely go for the EA NCAA college game. Side note of awesomeness…the cover depicts Brett Farve…in a Green Bay Packers uniform even though he plays for the New York Jets now. Much like TW, if you have the previous years on other consoles give the Wii version a try.
Batman Lego - Xbox 360, PS3, Wii -The blockbuster Lego video game series continues with Batman. This third installment of the popular family friendly game does not disappoint. The previous two have been widely successful: Indiana Jones and Star Wars and if you dont have them then they are worth picking up as well. Not only can you fight crime thru the streets of Gotham by playing with the caped crusaders, but you can also play as the villains and wreck havoc across the city. The best thing about this (and the other Lego games) is that once you go thru the story mode you can go back and play all the levels in free play which are fun to add in friends with you. This game is great for gamers of all ages.
Prince of Persia - Xbox 360, PS3 - The Prince makes his open ended game world next gen platform debut, which has been a much anticipated one. It was actually built on the Assassin’s Creed engine so some parts of the gameplay should feel familiar to gamers who knocked out that one. Battle the forces of evil in a wonderfully built setting. Like the other games of the series, the player must solve puzzles which makes it a little different than the typical shooter games. This game is only meant for the solo campaigner style gamer so don’t go buying it for a multiplayer junkie. The settings and open style of play are most awesomeness.
Another option if you have a gamer on your list that and don’t want to purchase a game for them, you can go a shirt route. In the Corndogger Online Store of Awesomeness (link at top), we have an original design called “I Got Red Ringed”. Every Xbox 360 game has either heard of this, know someone it has happened to, or has had it happened to themselves. Buy them something that no other Xbox gamer they know will have. Just click on the shirt to the left to order one for all the gamers on your list. They will champion your awesomeness in gift giving originality and the Corndogger promises they will wear it with pride.
